Diadems were popular for formal wear from the 16th century until the late 19th century. Shaped as a headband worn in a similar fashion as a crown often with a decoration trailing at the back. This diadem's headband is decorated with light manuve silk, cream lace and white pearls. The confined hair is placed in the woven net of light mauve velvet ribbon and pearl beading, with a foundation of a white sheer net underneath.
